Atlantic IP Advantage - IP Strategy is a financing and loans offered by Springboard Atlantic for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador).
Funding program that connects startups with IP professionals to develop an executable intellectual property strategy, covering 90% of costs up to $50,000.

Program details
The IP Strategy stream of Atlantic IP Advantage provides funding for startups working with Atlantic Canadian business accelerators or incubators to develop an executable IP strategy. Startups work with Springboard Atlantic IP Advantage teams and Regional IP Counsellors to develop applications and are matched with qualified IP service providers. The program covers 90% of costs up to $50,000, with funding paid directly to IP service providers. Launched in July 2023 as the Atlantic Canadian delivery partner for Elevate IP, supported by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED). The program is directed by Niraj Shukla with Regional IP Counsellors in each Atlantic province: Shelley Hessian (Nova Scotia), Libby Carew (Newfoundland & Labrador), and Andre Pelletier (New Brunswick).
Who qualifies
Startup must be less than 10 years old and have an affiliation to an Atlantic Canada business accelerator or incubator. Startups must complete IP awareness training.
