Immigrant Loan
Immigrant Loan is a financing and loans offered by CBDC Blue Water for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador).
Loans up to $5,000 at 10.2% fixed interest for immigrants starting a business in rural HRM, created in partnership with ISANS. Includes counselling and training services.

Program details
CBDC Blue Water and ISANS created the Immigrant Loan to help immigrants starting a business in the Halifax Regional Municipality. The program also offers counselling and training services. Loans up to $5,000 are available with fixed interest at 10.2% (Canada Prime Rate plus 3%). No penalties for early payout or lump sum payments. For clients with temporary resident status, repayment must be completed within 3 months of expiring visa date. Seasonal/part-time and year-round businesses are acceptable.
Who qualifies
Applicants must be new immigrants with temporary resident status or permanent residency, or Canadian citizens born outside of Canada. Must be registered clients with ISANS Business Development Programs. Must be age 19 years and older. Must be located in rural/semirural HRM. Sector eligibility is determined by CBDC Blue Water.
