Program details
Established in 2008, Access Ability provides wage subsidies to eligible employers in Atlantic Canada who hire individuals living with disabilities. The subsidy covers $9 per hour for up to 700 hours of a work placement. Benefits include help with employee coaching, offset of wage costs, and support for employee accommodations. In-person, hybrid, and online employment arrangements are accepted. Employers must commit to retaining the participant after the placement period.
Who qualifies
Small to medium sized business; 700-hour work placement (full-time or part-time); open position that is not in dispute or a lay-off; employer must be willing to bring on employee permanently after placement term
