Program details
Tech Connect Southeast is a Venn Innovation program delivered in partnership with the McKenna Institute at the University of New Brunswick, WorkingNB, and ACOA. It is designed to break down barriers and connect job seekers with opportunities in New Brunswick's growing tech sector. The program provides paid work placements, hands-on training, and one-on-one mentorship, helping participants gain industry-relevant skills and Canadian work experience. For internationally trained IT professionals, it creates a pathway into meaningful, long-term careers in the province. For employers, it opens access to job-ready talent. The program's goal is for at least 80% of participants to secure full-time employment in their field after completion. Shannon McMackin serves as the Regional Program Coordinator, bringing over 20 years of experience in recruitment and workforce strategy with companies such as Google, PayPal, Cisco, and VMware. Participants also contribute to community projects for local nonprofits through Civic Tech Moncton.
