Program details

The Youth Climate Pitch Competition is organized by Tribe Network in partnership with HCi3 to showcase ideas and projects that contribute to advancing clean energy solutions and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The competition is open to racialized youth in Nova Scotia ages 16-30 across three categories: high school students (16-18), post-secondary students (19-23), and graduate students/young professionals (24-30). Each category offers $5,000 in prizes. Submissions must include a pitch deck (mandatory), a 2-3 minute pitch video (optional), and brief bios of team members. Pitches must address one of four GHG emission sources: electricity, transportation, buildings, or energy. Groups can include a combination of racialized and non-racialized participants but must be a minimum of 50% racialized. Three finalists per category work with mentors before presenting at a final pitch event. Post-event feedback sessions are available for non-finalists.

Who qualifies

Open to racialized youth residing in Nova Scotia (those who are Black, Indigenous, non-Caucasian in race or non-white in colour). Ages 16-30. Pitches accepted from individuals and groups up to 4 people per team. Groups must be a minimum of 50% racialized. Submissions must include a pitch deck.
