Black Youth AI Fellowship

A free, 8-week virtual AI education program for Black university students across Canada, providing real-world AI skills training, hands-on experience with case studies, industry mentorship, a certificate of completion, and a national hackathon.

Program details

The Black Youth AI Fellowship is a free, national fellowship for Black post-secondary students who want to explore the power of artificial intelligence and gain job-ready digital skills. Over 8 weeks (July 7 - August 29), participants attend weekly 120-minute live sessions plus weekly team office hours and curated case study readings. Each session includes learning from an industry expert and Tribe facilitator, a group case study challenge tied to a real-world AI use case, and access to tools and support. The program concludes with a national hackathon. Participants receive real-world AI skills, hands-on experience solving business problems, a certificate of completion and project portfolio, industry mentorship with a national network of mentors and peers, and exposure to careers, internships, and entrepreneurial pathways. No tech background or coding experience is required.

Who qualifies

Must be a Black student enrolled in a Canadian college or university (undergraduate or graduate). No tech background needed. Must have a computer and internet access.
