As a designated business incubator, LaunchPad PEI evaluates applications and provides a letter of support enabling applicants to pursue permanent residency in Canada while establishing their business in Prince Edward Island. LaunchPad PEI does not take equity and does not charge an application fee.

Program details

LaunchPad PEI is a designated business incubator in Canada's Start-up Visa Program, providing an anchor for foreign businesses to immigrate and grow in Prince Edward Island. Unlike other incubators, LaunchPad PEI does not take equity in client companies. The homepage prominently features the Startup Visa Program pathway. Foreign entrepreneurs who are accepted receive a letter of support from the incubator, which they use to apply to IRCC for permanent residency. Upon acceptance, clients are provided with workspace, a dedicated Business Development Officer, access to Innovation PEI rebate programs, and connections to the local partner network.

Who qualifies

Foreign entrepreneurs with a business that is scalable, sustainable, and has global market potential. Must be willing to relocate to PEI. Business must be in a target technology sector.
