PEI Startup Incubation

PEI Startup Incubation is a program offered by LaunchPad PEI for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador).

LaunchPad PEI supports PEI-based startups with professional office space, a dedicated business development officer, access to programs supporting all stages of business development, and connections to funding, research, and trade partners. Portfolio companies include PayTic (fintech, raised C$2.95M) and Tracktile (smart manufacturing software, raised $575K pre-seed).

Program details

LaunchPad PEI works with startups in Prince Edward Island, providing support services in a professional working environment. Since 2002, the incubator has been assisting local startups. Members of the LaunchPad PEI community get access to professional and secure office space, a dedicated one-on-one business development officer, programs that support all stages of business development, access to Innovation PEI rebate programs (marketing, capital expenditures, payroll), networking with local businesses and investment opportunities through the Chambers of Commerce, links to UPEI and Holland College for student recruitment or research collaboration, and connection to government entities such as ACOA and NRC-IRAP for R&D funding or scale-up support. Recent portfolio company successes include PayTic (Charlottetown-based fintech, raised C$2.95M led by Build Ventures with participation from Island Capital Partners, Concrete Ventures and Outlierz Ventures) and Tracktile (smart manufacturing software, raised $575K pre-seed).

Who qualifies

Must be a technology company based in Prince Edward Island.
