Startup Canada Equal Slice Program is a program offered by Startup Canada for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador).
A program in partnership with Pizza Hut that supports underserved Canadian entrepreneurs through pitch competitions, educational webinars, and business resources, offering $100,000 annually in grants. Part of a three-year, $300,000 commitment. Now in its second year.

Program details
The Startup Canada Equal Slice Program, presented in partnership with Pizza Hut, provides access to funding, educational webinars, and business resources to help break down systemic barriers for underserved entrepreneurs. In 2026 (year two of the three-year partnership) the program includes: two pitch competitions (in-person in Toronto on June 3 and virtual on November 24), four expert-led webinars (Pitching with Purpose on May 12; Accessing Funding on July 14; Scaling Your Idea on September 1; Digital Strategies on November 17), opportunities at Startup Canada Tour stops, and updates to the Business Owner's Toolbox. The inaugural 2025 program received 500+ applications from 150+ cities, with 56% female founders, 18% immigrant entrepreneurs, and 62% Black and other racialized entrepreneurs. Ten winners each received $10,000 in 2025 ($100,000 total), with five selected from an in-person competition at Google headquarters in Toronto and five from a virtual national competition. Winners included companies like DOUBL, elerGreen, Rude Mama Hot Sauce, Canadian Handywoman, My Dorm Store, Take Care Together, Roncy Packs, Whipdd, Yekola, and 7 Summits Snacks.
Who qualifies
Open to underserved and equity-deserving Canadian entrepreneurs. Applications open from March 9, 2026; spots are limited and applications close when spots are filled.
