ideaBRIDGE Residency Program

ideaBRIDGE Residency Program is a program offered by Dal IDEA Hub for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador).

A competitive residency of up to two years providing dedicated workspace, prototyping labs, venture coaching, and engineering support for deep tech ventures bridging from prototype to commercialization.

Program details

ideaBRIDGE Residency helps founders refine and launch physical product-based companies and transition to a stage where they can stand on their own. Residents receive a dedicated workstation for teams of up to four, including desk space, work benches, and access to mechanical, electrical, and additive manufacturing labs. They receive design and engineering advice from the Lead Engineer and Academic Director, hands-on support from Electrical Engineering Co-op Students, and are paired with a Venture Coach for venture strategy, risk identification, customer pilot preparation, fundraising, manufacturing planning, and product launch. The program welcomes diverse founders and does not require a Dalhousie University connection.

Who qualifies

Between 1-4 employees. Has an operational prototype and some leads for first customer pilot. Has 6-12 months of runway. Legally incorporated. In need of space and specialized facilities to bring prototype to customer pilot and beyond. Seeking more industry and faculty advisors to refine product. Expanding team and positioning for funding.
