IDEA MakerSpace
IDEA MakerSpace is a workspace offered by Dal IDEA Hub for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador).
A free, open-access makerspace on the second floor of the Emera IDEA Building for all Dalhousie students, providing tools, equipment, materials, workshops, and guided tutorials for prototyping and personal projects.

Program details
The IDEA MakerSpace is located on the second floor of the Emera IDEA Building and is free to all Dalhousie students. It has open hours with experienced student staff and volunteers who provide assistance for prototype development, personal projects, or learning new skills. The space hosts events including project workshops and guided tutorials. Equipment includes hand tools, woodworking tools, 3D printers, laser cutter and engraver, CNC mill, vacuum former, Cricut vinyl cutter, soldering station and electronics, and casting materials. The MakerSpace is not for curricular projects. A multidisciplinary initiative from Dalhousie's Faculty of Engineering and NSCAD, it is part of the IDEA Sandbox programs that introduce students to innovation and entrepreneurship.
Who qualifies
Must be a current Dalhousie University student. Not for curricular projects.
