Consultant Advisory Services (CAS) is a advisory service offered by CBDC Blue Water for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador).
ACOA-funded program administered by CBDCs providing access to professional consultants for diagnostic assessments, business management development, access to capital guidance, market readiness, business coaching, valuation, diversity and inclusion, climate change advisory, and aftercare/mentoring.

Program details
The Consultant Advisory Services (CAS) Initiative offers eligible participants access to professional consulting services across 10 categories: (1) Diagnostic assessments of existing operations, (2) Business Management Development Practices including board governance and HR, (3) Access to Capital consulting for business plans and funding proposals (not for new start-ups), (4) Market Readiness/Export Potential assessments, (5) Specific Studies/Business Plans Mentoring, (6) Business Coaching for leadership and supervisory skills, (7) Business Valuation by a Chartered Business Valuator, (8) Diversity and Inclusion assessments, (9) Climate Change advisory including carbon footprint assessments and ESG strategies, (10) Aftercare/Mentoring and Follow-Up. Projects that identify potential to increase productivity and digitization or develop/attract workforce from under-represented communities are prioritized. A second CAS application requires approval from the NS Association of CBDCs.
Who qualifies
Eligible participants with existing businesses in rural HRM. Access to Capital consulting is not intended for new start-ups. A second CAS application requires approval from the NS Association of CBDCs.
