Atlantic Canada Black Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Program (BEP) is a program offered by Black Business Initiative for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador).

A federal program delivered by BBI to strengthen and expand support for Black businesses and entrepreneurs across Atlantic Canada. The program provides access to funding (including loans), business development support, skills training, and procurement opportunities.

Program details

The Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEP) Ecosystem in Atlantic Canada is a federal program designed to strengthen and broaden existing support for Black businesses and entrepreneurs in Nova Scotia and expand BBI's services and programs to all Atlantic Canadian provinces. The program offers access to funding (including loans for capital investments and working capital), procurement and supply chain opportunities, entrepreneurial development training, business skills training, communication, marketing and promotion strategies, and youth entrepreneurship programming through Business Is Jammin'.

Who qualifies

Self-identify as Black or Black-led; organization must have majority ownership (>51%) by Black Canadians; be a legal resident of Canada; be minimum 18 years; must have a business plan, business registration, and recent financial statements or financial projections for start-ups
